June 1, 1999 I had the opportunity to work with Stacey Rogers during my time working on Microsoft's Sidewalk.com at Cendant Online Services. Stacey's position had previously been filled by people who were not well suited to the position or to the company for various reasons. My colleagues and I knew immediately that Stacey was unique. She adapted to our office environment very quickly and before long, it was as if she had been there for years. She was pleasant and well mannered and established an excellent working relationship with our employees, our clients and our contacts at Microsoft. I can recall several occasions when clients expressed their satisfaction with her effort. One extremely frustrated client remarked that Stacey had been the only one he had dealt with who did anything to help him, and that he would have stopped doing business with us if he hadn't talked to her. I believe Stacey's most unique and valuable quality was that she showed a tremendous amount of initiative in every aspect of her job. She often took on projects simply because she saw room for improvement in our process. She recognized flaws, suggested solutions and implemented them. During a time right before the holidays, when business was slower than usual, she painted the entire office and rearranged the furiture, making the office layout much more comfortable and user-friendly. In addition to being motivated herself, Stacey has the rare ability to motivate others. Realizing the amount of pressure our sales staff was under, she began recording all sales on a board in the main room so everyone would know when a sale was made. This significantly improved the mood of the office because peole were able to congratulate their peers and see the team's sales accumulate throughout the week. Stacey also established a weekly award, which she presented to the member of the sales team who deserved recognition, not only for making sales, but also for following office procedures and having a positive attitude. Stacey is eager to learn new things. She taught herself to use several new software programs so she would be able to assist with the design work. Her help was greatly appreciated by the design team. I believe that Stacey would be an extremely valuable part of any team because she is capable of doing a variety of things, eager and willing to learn, and has a positive attitude, which seems to be contageous.
